Superheater is a component in a boiler that further heats steam from saturation temperature to superheating temperature, also known as a steam superheater. Superheaters can be divided into convection type, radiation type, and semi radiation type according to their heat transfer methods; According to structural characteristics, it can be divided into serpentine tube type, screen type, wall type, and enclosed wall type. They are all composed of several parallel pipes and inlet and outlet headers.
Most industrial boilers are not equipped with superheaters because many industrial production processes and living facilities only require saturated steam. In power plants, locomotives, and marine boilers, superheaters are generally installed to improve the cyclic thermal efficiency of the entire steam power plant.
